I thought a lot about what happened two days ago, and the arguments and its aftermath made me take a look at myself and this wiki. I was being bias without even knowing it, even though it was brought to my attention several times(again, I'm just an a**hole sometimes), and that has made me reevaluate my position as an admin. It's my job to have the wiki's best interests in mind, and I know for a fact that's not what I thinking about when the argument took place.
That being said, I think there are two users on this wiki who both deserve to be promoted: Luna the Silkwing and Indigo the SeaWing-NightWing.
From what I've seen, both of them are very mature users. For one, they handled the whole Survivor situation maturely (which I was unable to do.) If you don't know what the Survivor situation was, then this message does not concern you.
This wiki needs experienced mods. I've never dealt with something as complicated and serious as what happened with Survivor, besides maybe what happened with Nick? But even then, to me at least, it was clear that he needed to go. I've been on the WoF wiki myself, and I've seen the horrible things people do and say. No offense to the mods already on this wiki, but I don't think any of us had the experience needed to deal with Survivor quickly and correctly, which is why it took so long for her to get banned. Like I said, stuff like this has happened on the WoF Wiki before, and so the two of them have dealt with situations similar to the one that happened here.
Also, like I said, they're active on the WoF Wiki. I want this to be a safe and inclusive place for everybody, and if there are people that WoF users know who are active on this wiki, then they'll know that this is a place where they can be as open as they want. I've dealt with biphobia before, though not to the extreme some others have, and it feels good when you can be out and proud with users who will do nothing but support you.
Indigo told me that they were active on the wiki, which is awesome, because I'm not super active. With everything going on in the world concerning people of my race being killed for no reason, I'm going to spend less time on media and more time stepping out of my bubble to try and make a change. So that means we'll have one less admin to be as active as needed on the wiki, and it would help a lot if Indigo was also a mod so she could moderate what goes on.
Luna had some great ideas for templates and new characters, and we for sure could use some creativity on this wiki. (That sounds like an insult but it's not, I just mean that the more creativity, the better). Hopefully this wiki can be as organized as possible, and we need to have proper formats, categories, character pages, etc.
This isn't my decision alone, obviously, but hopefully we can come to some sort of group consensus. I think that this would benefit the wiki tremendously.
Absolutely. I think that Star’s idea about having WoF ambassadors was a good one, but also you mentioned that you’ve had experience with homophobes/trolls/etc., even if it’s not as a mod/admin. Plus, you seem pretty active, and we need active mods on the wiki so they can monitor what goes on.
